Client: Chicago Public Schools Location: Remote Interview Mode: Virtual Interview Type: Contract Work authorization: Cannot work with OPT or CPT Rate: 70/hr W2 Project Description: CPS is currently undertaking a multi-year ERP modernization program for migrating and upgrading on-premise Oracle E-Business Financials, Oracle PeopleSoft Human Capital Management Applications, and Kronos Workforce Management System to the latest SaaS-based Oracle Cloud ERP Platform as part of business and technology transformation. The Solution Architect - Oracle Fusion Cloud will leverage technical experience to help CPS achieve value through defining and implementing Cloud migration strategies leveraging Oracle technologies for large-sized organizations. They will help to develop and enhance methodologies that leverage leading practices to build secure, highly available, and performant solutions to deliver the Cloud Strategy and Migration vision. This is a full-time remote position (9-5, M-F, CST). The resource is for a long-term need to support our multi-year ERP Modernization Program with potential hire opportunities as well as staff augmentation support needed during the implementation. The Solution Architect - Oracle Fusion Cloud will leverage technical experience to help CPS achieve value through defining and implementing Cloud migration strategies leveraging Oracle technologies for large sized organizations. They will help to develop and enhance methodologies that leverage leading practices to build secure, highly available, and performant solutions to deliver the Cloud Strategy and Migration vision. The Solution Architect leads technical solutioning discussions as part of CPS ERP Transformation Requirements Analysis and Solution Design phase of the program utilizing Oracle ERP Fusion Cloud platform and collaboratively works with the System Integrator team for validating the solution design and implementation of final ERP Cloud solution. This position resides in the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) of the Information and Technology Services (ITS) / ERP Modernization Program of Chicago Public Schools. The Solution Architect is accountable for the following responsibilities: • Assist in architecting Oracle ERP Cloud based SaaS solutions to enable cloud solutions with consideration for performance and high availability. • Work closely with business stakeholders, ERP Cloud Vendors, and third-party solution providers, as well as system integrators to define and design CPS ERP Cloud technology footprint as part of the implementation roadmap. • Define standard operating procedures for allowing Oracle and non-Oracle technologies to seamlessly integrate. • Lead Technical Solution Design workshops and building technical strategies for conversions, integrations, reports and extensions leveraging Oracle SaaS platform for a large and complex Oracle Fusion implementation. • Advise on technical solutions, architecture designs, strategy, and implementation best practices. • Provide technical design and solution architecture inputs to plan the deliverable timelines and resources for the project scope, timeline, and execution. • Build technical designs and support complex Oracle ERP SaaS solutions to address business requirements. • Stay current with industry developments and best practices and incorporate them as and when necessary. • Ensure that the application architecture is consistent with architectural standards, working closely with the enterprise architecture and operations team to facilitate approval from CPS Architecture Review Board. • Assist management with writing statement of work proposals, preparation of project estimates, identification of technology stack and hardware requirements and preparation of IT BOM for provisioning of production and non-production environment resources. • Develop architectural artifacts (blueprints, roadmaps, strategies, white papers, presentations, etc.) for CPS ERP Transformation Program. • Proactively contribute, offer recommendations, and identify risks and solutions associated with proposed or existing software applications strategies. • The Solution Architect is versatile enough to understand several different applications, and to be a Subject Matter Expert in relation to one or several applications.
