In a Technical Learning Lead role, you will have the opportunity to shape the learning journey and support the training events for early career engineers in the Global Technology organization. You will build strong working relationships within the training team, as well as functional partners including members of the broader learning organization, SEP Program Managers, our trainers, senior leadership and other stakeholders. The Learning Lead will have two primary functions:

Technical Instructional Design

  • Use your passion for developing and delivering training to create experiential, engaging and inclusive learning experiences for early career technologists.
  • Leverage your technical experience and diverse background to develop and deliver technical solutions and relevant hands-on training content.
  • Incorporate digital instructional design concepts to scale and lead efforts to convert prior in-person classroom courses into engaging, impactful digital or virtual skill-based learning, social learning, gaming, video, infographics.
  • Facilitate coaching and Train-the-Trainer sessions on technical curriculum, digital and virtual tools.
Facilitation & Curriculum Implementation
  • Facilitate Technical Curriculum, both in-person and virtual.
  • Provide key curriculum and technical support at multiple induction events occurring globally throughout the year.
  • Use your experience with development tools, platforms, and services (such as IntelliJ, Git, Bitbucket) to troubleshoot technology issues.
  • Facilitate a broad range of activities including Engineer & classroom support, code reviews, back-up trainer responsibilities, facilitation of daily stand-ups and presentations at large plenary sessions.
  • Document cyclical deliverables and trainer/faculty best practices to ensure quality and repeatability.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, share best practices and strive for global consistency, where feasible.
  • Flexibility to work various time zones during implementation.
Requirements:
  • High degree of technical acumen and programming experience (Java, Python or React)
  • Experience with database management systems
  • Experience working on an Agile team
  • Able to explain technical concepts to less technical audiences
  • Digital Instructional Design experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently on a high-performing team
  • Capability to lead multiple work-streams from concept to implementation in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain multiple, strategic relationships with Global Technology partners and senior stakeholders to support program engagement and ownership
Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:
  • 3-5 years of Instructional design and Facilitations experience preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in Software Engineering (Java, Python or React preferred)
  • Proven consulting, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship and meeting management skills
  • Self-directed, self-motivated and ability to work independently
  • Organized, able to prioritize work, able to balance multiple competing priorities
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office products
