About Piedmont Airlines: Piedmont Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the American Airlines Group, is a premier regional airline operating as American Eagle. We have a proud history of safety and reliability, connecting smaller communities to American's global network from our hubs on the East Coast. We operate a fleet of modern Embraer E-145 regional jets. Our company culture is built on the values of 'Caring, Compliance, and Communication,' fostering a supportive, team-oriented environment. We are currently seeking professional, friendly, and safety-focused individuals for our 'entry-level' Flight Attendant position based in Philadelphia, PA (PHL). This is a career where 'no experience' in aviation is necessary; we provide one of the industry's best, paid training programs to fully equip you for success as an FAA-certified safety professional. Your New Career – The Role: As a Piedmont Airlines Flight Attendant, you are the face of American Eagle and the sole safety professional in the cabin of our E-145 aircraft. This is a role of tremendous responsibility and independence. Your primary and most critical duty is to ensure the safety and well-being of up to 50 passengers on every flight. You are more than a service provider; you are a first responder, a safety expert, and a confident leader who ensures compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). This position requires a unique blend of authority and warmth, allowing you to enforce safety protocols while providing a welcoming and helpful customer experience. You must be resilient, adaptable, and able to manage a flexible 24/7 schedule that includes 'day shift' departures, 'night shift' arrivals, and 'weekend shift' assignments. The Training – Your Foundation for Success: Your aviation career begins with our intensive, multi-week, paid training program, held at our training center. This program is challenging and designed to take you from 'no experience' to a fully-certified FAA safety professional. Our dedicated instructors will support you through a comprehensive curriculum, which includes: * **Aircraft Systems & Safety Equipment:** You will gain an expert-level, hands-on understanding of the Embraer E-145, including the operation of its main cabin door, emergency exits, interphone systems, and all onboard safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, PBEs, AEDs, life vests, and oxygen systems). * **Emergency Procedures:** You will be rigorously trained in all potential emergencies, using realistic mock-ups and drills. This includes land and water evacuations, in-flight fire fighting, depressurization procedures, and medical incident management. * **First Aid & Medical Response:** You will be certified in CPR, AED, and advanced first aid, preparing you to handle passenger medical events with confidence and competence. * **Customer Service & Conflict Resolution:** We will teach you our service standards (in line with American Airlines) and how to manage a wide range of passenger interactions, including de-escalating conflict and ensuring a positive experience for all. * **FAA Regulations:** You will learn and be tested on the FARs that govern your role and ensure the safety of our operations. Successful completion of this training, including passing all exams and practical drills, is mandatory and a proud achievement. A Day in the Life – What to Expect: No two days are ever the same. Your 'workday' is fast-paced and begins well before takeoff: * **Pre-Flight:** You will arrive at the airport (your PHL domicile) for your 'check-in,' often for an early 'day shift' 1-2 hours before departure. You'll join your flight crew (Captain and First Officer) for a detailed briefing covering flight plans, weather, passenger loads, and any special safety or service considerations. You will then board the empty aircraft to conduct your pre-flight safety checks, meticulously inspecting every piece of emergency equipment, verifying catering supplies, and ensuring the cabin is secure and ready for boarding. * **Boarding:** You'll greet passengers with a professional and welcoming presence, assisting them with carry-on baggage (per company policy), seating, and answering questions. This is a critical time for monitoring the cabin, identifying any potential issues (like intoxicated passengers or security concerns), and ensuring all safety-sensitive tasks are completed before the door closes. * **In-Flight:** Once airborne, your primary role remains safety. You'll conduct compliance checks, monitor the cabin, and be ready to respond to any call light or irregularity. You will then perform our inflight service, interacting with passengers and ensuring their comfort. You are a problem-solver, a first responder, and a customer service agent, all at 30,000 feet. * **Post-Flight:** Upon landing, you'll manage a safe and orderly deplaning process. You'll then conduct a final cabin sweep for lost items and security checks. Your day will consist of multiple flights ('legs') and end with a 'night shift' arrival, either back at your home base or in an overnight city (layover), where you check into a company-provided hotel to rest for the next day's duty. The Lifestyle – Schedule & Flexibility: This is not a 9-to-5 job. Your schedule is built on seniority and requires 24/7 availability. As a new 'entry-level' Flight Attendant, you will start on 'reserve.' This means you are on-call, ready to be assigned a trip at a moment's notice, and must be able to report to the airport quickly. Your schedule will include 'day shift,' 'night shift,' 'weekend shift,' and holiday assignments. While this demands flexibility, it also offers it—you may work a 3-day trip and then have 4 days off. This lifestyle is perfect for those who thrive on variety and are not suited for a desk job. Why Piedmont? We offer a career, not just a job, with a direct and guaranteed path to American Airlines. We are a company that values its employees and provides a supportive, close-knit team environment. We offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and excellent travel privileges on the entire American Airlines global network. If you are a disciplined, caring, and safety-focused person, we invite you to apply and start your career with us.
