Senior Public Relations Assistant - Europe
Qatar Airways are now recruiting for the role of Senior Public Relations Assistant - Europe.
Based in London, you will assist and support the Regional PR Manager for Europe to successfully deliver the PR and Corporate Communications plans and land impactful media coverage for Qatar Airways. This will involve general press office and PR duties, various day to day administrative and coordination tasks and event management support. You will work closely with media and various stakeholders and will also support in idea generation for campaigns.
We are looking for an ambitious, proactive and dynamic communications professional, who is comfortable in fast-moving environments. You should be eager to learn, not afraid to ask tough questions and have the desire to tell great stories for Qatar Airways.
Applicants should have relevant experience in PR/corporate communications either agency or in-house.
Specific accountabilities include:
  • Work closely with the PR Manager for the region to undertake general administrative duties including running mail, collecting/distributing documents & materials, bill payments, booking staff travel and managing expense statements.
  • Keep calendars (editorial, press conferences, events etc.) and media lists updated for Regional PR Manager on all ongoing and upcoming activities in the region.
  • Assist Regional PR Manager in research work and planning of regional PR activities and documenting of meeting minutes for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Assist the regional offices in logistics and execution of events and conferences, campaigns and all ad hoc activities as directed by the PR Manager and ensures that all stakeholders are informed and updated.
  • Assists the regional PR Manager in providing effective administrative support and coordination with QR offices/departments, colleagues, supervisors, senior management, media outlets, vendors, visitors/guests and other external clients.
  • Provide assistance in compiling media materials such as press releases, newsletters, reports, PR metrics, speeches and presentations.
  • Liaise with PR agencies for weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Meet & Assist QR VIP Guests.

Qualification

  • Similar relevant experience within PR
  • Understanding of what makes a good story
  • Excellent writing skills and creative thinker
  • Hunger for storytelling and delivering impactful media coverage
  • Willingness to learn and to travel as required
  • The ability to work independently, as well as function as part of a team

You must have the current legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this role.
