The Livestock Market Advisor role involves providing brokerage services to the dairy, grain, and livestock value chain, while educating clients on risk management and market strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Breakeven analysis and evaluation
  • Development of risk management plans that best align with the client’s objectives
  • Managing price risk in an ongoing manner as driven by market movement, including technical indicators
  • Provide regular market-related news and updates, including conference calls and publications as required
  • Record client profiles, sales, and interactions within the CRM system
  • Drive to and from customer or job sites, while safely operating a company-provided or personal vehicle and adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations, including no handheld phone use while driving
  • Lead or assist with other assigned projects and duties

Skills

  • Series 3 Brokers License and Series 30 Branch Manager License (as needed) required, or initiative to complete all required Licenses within 12 months of hire
  • A minimum of 2 years of market or general exposure to the livestock industry
  • Firsthand understanding of the market fundamentals surrounding livestock operations
  • Understanding of the cash markets and its correlation to CME prices in the process of managing risk
  • Background in farming, ranching or other sectors within the livestock industry REQUIRED
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely and legally while complying with all applicable traffic laws and company policies, including the use of hands-free communication devices.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Agriculture focused college degree is preferred
