Position Title & Overview:

The Director of Social Impact - Sustainability is responsible for leading Mediavine’s sustainability programs, policies and initiatives. As part of our commitment to making the world more productive and sustainable, we are seeking a dynamic sustainability professional to contribute to the development and execution of our corporate sustainability program.

You will work internally and externally to define, develop and execute programs that drive awareness and maximize impact. In this role, innovation and collaboration is key. Partnering with others, you will implement initiatives that reduce the organization's carbon footprint with an eye on Mediavine becoming a leader in sustainability for the Ad Tech industry. The ideal candidate is someone who can inspire and influence cross-functional teams driven by the shared goal to make a positive impact.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead in the development of the company’s sustainability goals and implements the strategy
  • Advise on and develop sustainability standards, principles, and policies within the organization
  • Take a key market facing role as a thought leader, promoting our sustainability philosophy to both internal and external audiences
  • Contribute to the development and publication of reports including collecting data and consolidating information requests to participate in market studies
  • Develop annual and long-term corporate sustainability goals measuring against industry benchmarks as well as our own goals
  • Drive preparation of responses to leading ESG rating agencies and the Company’s key customers to optimize ESG scores and achieve market recognition
  • Conduct benchmarking, follow trends, and provide best practices for ESG disclosures while identifying gaps and presenting solutions
  • Collaborate with key internal teams on relevant data and target setting
  • Partner closely with the marketing, legal, people operations and other functional teams as needed in support of initiatives and to help promote outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to surface opportunities for improving the sustainability of company operations
  • Project manage cross-functional sustainability initiatives to support the Company’s sustainability strategy
  • Assess vendors and partnerships based on established sustainability goals
  • Engage with suppliers, peer groups or industry associations on sustainability, environmental projects and present across the market at public facing events
  • Travel up to 25%
Requirements

Location:
  • Must currently live in the United States
You Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate responsibility, sustainability preferred
  • Current experience in one or more of the following industries; Ad Tech, Media/Online Publishing, Marketing and Advertising, preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in environmental standards and best practices as well as learn and apply sustainability standards that leverage experience in ambiguous spaces
  • Experience designing or redesigning an ESG program, preferably in the tech industry
  • Strong project management skills with experience gaining consensus and driving deliverables with individuals inside the organization
  • Ability to work on multiple types of projects at any one time
  • Experience working with various teams to leverage expertise where it is available to get the job done
  • A high level of enthusiasm, creativity, self-motivation, resourcefulness and effectiveness as a team player
  • Ability to sell ideas, presenting strategies at various levels
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking, initiative, and creativity and a proven track record for innovation
  • Values and supports diversity in the workplace
  • Ability to take complex topics and provide succinct, simplified messaging
