Job Summary

Scalesforth is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote role that allows you to work from anywhere while contributing to the seamless payroll management of our organization. As a Payroll Accountant, you will ensure accurate processing of employee compensation, compliance with payroll regulations, and timely reporting to support our financial operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and local labor laws.
  • Manage payroll records, including timesheets, tax documents, and benefit deductions.
  • Calculate and verify overtime, bonuses, and other additional compensations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to address payroll-related queries and discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, reports, and year-end summaries (e.g., W-2, 1099).
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll data.
  • Continuously update payroll processes and recommend system improvements for efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in payroll processing or accounting roles.
  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, or similar platforms).
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various departments.

Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of payroll accounting experience in a corporate or remote environment.
  • Experience in working with distributed teams is an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate a global team, with core hours between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM (based on your time zone).
