Key Responsibilities

Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, ensuring full compliance with UK and Ireland standards and regulations.

Safety Culture: Promote and embed a culture of safety (and prevention) throughout the organisation by leading awareness campaigns and training initiatives. Involvement in the strategic further development of Health, Safety & Wellbeing programs to strengthen our culture.

Audit Management: Conduct internal audits and ensure all health and safety documentation and procedures are audit-ready.

Training & Development: Design and deliver comprehensive health and safety training for employees and leadership. Ensure all employees complete mandatory training modules within required timeframes. Monitor training completion rates and proactively follow-up with managers and employees to close any gaps.

Testing and Reporting: Responsible for managing accident and incident reporting, ensuring timely investigations and compliance with legal requirements. Oversee statutory inspections, risk assessments proactively identifying potential hazards and implementing effective controls, and regular alarm testing, maintaining accurate records and addressing any issues promptly. The role also includes liaising with external partners and regulatory bodies to ensure all reporting obligations are met.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to drive a high standard of health and safety performance. Build strong relationships with external service partners and regulators to maintain best-in-class standards.

Manage the health and safety budget effectively, ensuring resources are in place to support compliance and training programs.

This role is based in our London Head Office, 4 days a week in the office and 1 day remote.

  • A proactive and positive attitude toward all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality, actively contributing to a strong safety culture across the organisation.
  • Extensive experience in the implementation of occupational health management and wellbeing initiatives in a retail environment or in a service-oriented industry, with proven achievements in process optimization and the improvement of relevant KPIs.
  • In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety as well as wellbeing management; practical experience in conducting internal audits.
  • The ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently, managing their own workload and setting appropriate priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgment and the capability to make well-informed decisions based on timely and accurate information.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and proactivity combined with a structured, careful and solution-oriented way of working as well as a high standard of quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey clear, concise, and factual observations.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding and experience of Health and Safety regulations in the UK and Ireland
  • IOSH / NEBOSH or other relevant, recognised H&S qualification
  • Relevant Facilities Management Qualification (HND, Diploma etc)
