Job DescriptionLocation: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) Program Duration: June 5, 2025 - July 18, 2025 (6 Weeks) Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-3:00 PM (6.5 hours per day) Hourly Rate: $15.00/hour (SYEP program tier rate)Program Overview: The ATL SYEP Minor Program at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) offers youth aged 14-15 an opportunity to gain early exposure to professional work environments through hands-on learning experiences in various business units. Participants will develop foundational workplace skills, explore career interests, and contribute to the operations of the world's busiest airport.ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary: As a SYEP Minor Program Participant, incumbent will support the Business Services team in completing general office tasks that promote operational efficiency, organization, and document management. This role is designed to provide a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate introduction to workplace responsibilities while complying with all federal and state labor laws for minors. Key Responsibilities: • Shred confidential or outdated paperwork in compliance with records retention policies • File and organize both physical and digital documents • Label and archive folders, files, or storage boxes • Scan paper records into digital formats • Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail • Perform basic data entry tasks in Excel or other tracking systems (as directed) • Inventory, label, and organize office supplies and equipment in storage areas • Tidy and restock supply areas, break rooms, or shared office spaces • Support print and copy needs for meetings or events • Assist with delivering documents or supplies to other departments within the airport Program Expectations: • Follow all workplace safety guidelines, airport policies, and supervisor instructions • Maintain a professional attitude and demonstrate responsibility in assigned tasks • Participate in a structured work experience that fosters personal and professional development • Attend all scheduled SYEP training sessions and check-ins with the Program Coordinator • Wear appropriate attire as directed by the supervisor (uniform shirt provided) • Remain on airport property during work hours unless escorted by an authorized adult employeeQualificationsWork Permit Requirements (State of Georgia & City of Atlanta):• Must obtain an official Georgia Work Permit prior to start date• Parent/guardian consent is required for participation• The work permit will outline approved tasks and limitations based on state labor laws for 14- and 15-year-olds (e.g., no hazardous tasks, maximum hours per day, no late shifts)Program Benefits:• Early exposure to business operations in a global transportation hub• Development of foundational workplace skills, including time management, communication, and organization• Opportunity to build confidence and explore career pathways in aviation and beyond• Supervised, age-appropriate work aligned with Georgia and federal child labor lawsEligibility:• Must be at least 14 years old• Must reside in the City of Atlanta or the greater Metro Atlanta area• Must have a valid Georgia Work Permit (required for youth under 16)• Must obtain parental/guardian permission• Must demonstrate an interest in learning about business operations and administrative support functions
