Description

Get your hard hat ready. We’re not just renovating the travel experience – we’re renovating our physical spaces too. And our Corporate Real Estate team is on the front lines of procuring, designing and developing spaces at all our hubs, stations and city locations across the world. From airport affairs and business services to planning and development, this team is responsible for all our leases and major construction and renovation projects, system wide.

Job overview and responsibilities
The Associate Project Manager will play a crucial role in managing their projects as well as supporting the Planning and Development Director and the Business Service Team in effectively managing project portfolios, labor resources, reviewing invoices, change orders, contracts, and more. This role will pay meticulous attention to detail, have strong analytical skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The Associate PM will contribute to the successful execution of projects and the overall growth of our organization. This position is onsite at the Dulles Airport offices.

  • Project Management:

o Take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring their successful execution from initiation to completion

o Develop and maintain project plans, including defining project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation

o Support the evaluation of project proposals, feasibility studies, and business cases to determine project viability

  • Project Portfolio Management:

o Assist in maintaining and updating the project portfolio, including tracking project progress, deadlines, and deliverables

o Collaborate with the team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

  • Resource Allocation:

o Support the Planning and Development Director in managing labor resources for various projects

o Assist in coordinating team assignments, tracking availability, and optimizing resource allocation to ensure efficient project execution

  • Financial Management:

o Review and analyze invoices, change orders, and contracts to ensure accuracy and adherence to project budgets

o Collaborate with the Finance Department to resolve any discrepancies and facilitate timely payment processing

o Ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements

o Identify and communicate any potential risks or issues

  • Financial Coordination:

o Collaborate closely with the finance team to manage project funding, budget request, and forecasts

o Track capital/operating costs and spend and provide regular updates to finance and leadership

  • Documentation and Reporting:

o Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, project forecasts, and status reports

o Generate reports and presentation decks on project progress, key metrics, and resource utilization for management review and decision-making

  • Stakeholder Communication:

o Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, vendors, and contractors

o Assist in organizing and coordinating project meetings, workshops, and presentations

  • Risk Management:

o Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with the project team

o Monitor and report on risk status, ensuring proactive measures are in place to minimize project disruptions

  • Quality Assurance:

o Support quality control efforts by participating in project reviews and ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures

  • Continuous Improvement:

o Contribute to the enhancement of project management processes and methodologies

o Identify opportunities for streamlining workflows, optimizing resource utilization, and improving overall project efficiency


Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Ability to facilitate intake/demand management, organizing and coordinating the work of project teams and collecting and rolling up relevant data and KPI's to leadership and stakeholders
  • Understanding of design and construction project lifecycle, capital planning, facility asset lifecycle, and related inputs
  • Demonstrated best practices in project portfolio management and planning
  • Presentation skills and ability to collect and analyze various types of data
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to anticipate needs and solve problems with sometimes little direction
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • PMP Certification; experience in aviation design and construction project management, labor resource planning
  • Experience with construction project and portfolio management, resource labor planning and management, high level construction project estimating

The base pay range for this role is $64,885.00 to $84,514.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
